I’m very in a good mood today.

It’s 09.11 am and I just landed in Thai convo class. However, I try to make myself late for this class I always end up making it on time because the professor is always late than me.

I just in the good mood that I ran to the elevator just for no reason. It’s like something pop up in my heart and I’m excited about it. I’m not sure what is it but I’m training myself to not have high expectations on anything. I’m pretty sure it’s because of the good weather. The sun bathing along my way.

So today I’m going to tell you about the academic time schedule and transportations in this uni.

This uni separate the timeline between regular and international program. I don’t know what’s the special purpose for it but this system makes the after effect of regular’s end semester in uni become a quite place. In a good way. it makes the uni become a peaceful place in the winter tropical.

This year, the international program starts on 13th August-13thDecember.

While the regular program starts on 9th July- 22ndNovember.

Free Bus

Kasetsart University also provides campus transportation for servicing all personnel and students which is free of charge all routes. For the first time, this map will help you. It’s important so I put the link below.

this is most of my favorite facilities in KU. The bus have 5 routes that connecting all spot in the uni. They had various types of the bus, like the common bus that we can meet at the main road and electric bus that become my favorite, it has no noisy sound and it has semi-open models that you can feel the wind breeze along the way play with your hair (or hijab in my case). Just put your music on and whoop, it’ll suit whatever your mood will bring you..

Some of international students that don’t want to rent a bicycle will choose this transportation. Unless you are in a hurry and pretty rich enough, you can use a taxi or motorbike man.

Indonesian students 100% will rent a bike because it’s cheap and convenient to travel anywhere around campus—eventhough in Indonesia it’s very rare to find them with a bike because almost everyone had their own motorcycle. Cambodia, Vietnam, and the country around Thailand are also 100%. Japanese maybe 70% will rent it, I think it’s still very common for them nowadays. Korean, Taiwanese, Chines, just 20% I think. Europian? So far it’s 0%. Nor because they very very rich but it also the bicycle itself too small for their body. So my europian friends will take another option or just simple walking and consider it as exercise as well.

The most important bus is number 5 because this the only bus to get to the student's dormitory. The most important time schedule that everyone should aware of is at 5 p.m. if you are smart people I suggest you not get the bus around 5 p.m. it’s the time for every bus driver to take a break. So if you want to come back with the bus make sure you catch it before that time.

What if I get the bus right at 5 pm? It’s depends on bus driver mood. If you are lucky, the bus driver will bring you to your destination for the last round, if you’re not lucky he’ll bring you to the bus stop near gate 1 which is their main station. The bus will operate again around 6.30-7 pm.

So if you are Muslim and trap in that kind of situation you can catch the ashr and maghrib by walking to the dorm or main library, or Muslim club.

For me, I usually take a walk or simply call the motorbike man that crosses the road. It’s lil' bit pricey but can help you in that kind of special circumstances.

In my story, I don’t take the bus in the morning class because the line is very very very long line. Almost all Thai students will take the bus, and few of them will bring their own motorcycle. So if you don’t rent any bike you can come earlier to get the bus. So that’s why I prefer to take my bike for morning class because the weather is still acceptable.

I also have an afternoon class, for this case I definitely choose the bus because I can’t stand with the hot temperature at noon.

The bus number 5 only sends you from the dorm until the main library so you can look further to the bus map where you’ll transit and change to other bus routes. Or simply walk from the library to your faculty.

The bus it self has the ring door in every spot, so don’t worry about your Thai language to tell the driver to stop.

Motorcycle

Thailand also have motorcycle man or “ojek” in Bahasa. But their system is still conventional. You just need to raise your hand to call them. It’s very easy to find them.

How much the price? It’s 15-20 baht in around campus.

But if they know you’re not Thai people (kon thai) they just simply give you maximum price, 20 baht even it’s very near. But I don’t think it’s kinda big problem tho.

I will tell you first before you feel guilty like I did,

I took a motorcycle man from Amonphan market near KU to the dorm and he gave me 40 baht! It’s twice or more if you take the motorcycle man outside the campus gate even the distance it’s also very near.

So it’s better to use taxi sometimes.

You know, there is still difficult to use Uber or online motorcycle man like “Gojek” or “Grab” in Indonesia. So you can’t prepare “uang pas" or simply just bring extra money than your assumption because we don’t know what will happen next.

I think it’s too much now, I will tell another topic in the next chapter.

Oh and here just lil’ information about the Infirmary. I hope you always healthy and happy so you don’t need to see the doctor.

They also provide The services of the Infirmary. Students who want to make use of the services must contact the Infirmary and apply for an Infirmary ID. You need to bring your student ID card to register and use the service.

Service is provided in the morning from 09.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and in the afternoon from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

They will give you some paper to ask what you feel what you need and stuff so it’ll really help both of you and the paramedics. Don’t worry they all and the doctors can speak English. After register and fill some papers, the paramedic will check up your bodies such as blood pressure, weight, and stuff. After you finish you will meet the doctor. The facilities are quiet nice and clean. The location is in front of the post office or near the main canteen.
